Charles Novo Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Union in 2007 to honor the memory of Charles Novo, Jr. who led the decertification effort that lead to the establishment of AME. Applicants for this essay scholarship will be required to submit an essay on the topic of “Labor and the Working Class”. Unions are essential to a fair economy and a vibrant democracy, but not all working people are Union members. In what specific ways has the Labor Movement helped all working people, Union members or not, and how can Labor seek to increase the number of Union members throughout the Country?
