This scholarship was established by our Union in 2009 to honor the memory of one of our beloved charter members, Suffolk County Crossing Guard Dorie Rossiter. Applicants for this essay scholarship will be required to submit an essay defining “Labor through the Lens of Culture”. The values of the Labor Movement are so intrinsically part of our nature that many of the books, movies, shows, and media that we consume are reflective of Labor values and messages. Applicants should share an example of Labor values and messages on display in popular culture and provide real-life examples of these same values in action at the workplace or in a Labor context. For additional conditions and details.
