THE RESULTS ARE IN!  LEVLER/O’CONNELL TEAM ELECTED TO LEAD SUFFOLK COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEEES

Suffolk AME President Daniel Levler Hails the Election Results as a Mandate to Fight for the 10,000 Active and Retired Members Who Make Suffolk County Work

BOHEMIA, NEW YORK (April 4, 2018) –  Suffolk County’s largest labor union, The Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees, which represents over 10,000 active and retired members, today announced the election results of the union’s executive officers who will serve a new three-year term. With 100% of the votes cast, current President Daniel C. Levler and Executive Vice President Michelle O’Connell prevailed with 98% and 96% of the vote, respectively. Other top officers who were elected include:

• Vice President Joseph M. Callari who defeated Don Dailey by 76%.
• Vice President Christopher Cuddihy who defeated Desiree Evangalista by 77%
• Vice President Stan Humin III who defeated Susan Odell-Pepe by 75%
• Vice President Christina A. Maher who ran unopposed and won 100%
• Treasurer Linda L. Brown who defeated Joan Vaccaro by 75%
• Recording Secretary Christian Limbach who ran unopposed and won 99%

Commenting on the union’s election results, Daniel C. Levler, President of Suffolk County AME, said: “Today, our members have spoken and the message they sent is loud and clear. They have given us a mandate to continue our fight for higher wages, improved benefits, and increased protections to our pensions.  On behalf of the entire Suffolk AME Executive Board, I am deeply grateful for their faith in our leadership and their confidence in our ability to advocate on their behalf for the next three years.  We will not let them down.”
