Mike’s dedication to protecting our community was unwavering. Rising through the ranks from Caseworker to Senior Caseworker and eventually Casework Supervisor with Suffolk County Child Protective Services, Mike was a true advocate for the most vulnerable. As Supervisor of the Family Assessment Response (FAR) Team — affectionately known as the “FART team” — he went beyond the call of duty, championing compassionate care and support. His commitment to FAR practices reflected his deep belief in dignity and respect for families in need.
Yet, above all, Mike’s proudest role was that of a father. The light of his life were his four sons: Shane Arthur (18), Nathan Joseph (16), Lucas John (9), and Colin Alexander (7). His passion for life extended into teaching them the art of Karate, in which Mike proudly held a Black Belt in the Isshinryu style.
Please join us on January 28th to honor Mike’s legacy by donating blood — a simple act that saves lives and embodies the spirit of caring Mike lived by.
To sign up, visit nybc.org/sponsor and enter sponsor code #73233. While appointments are encouraged to ensure availability, walk-ins are always welcome when space allows.
Let's come together as a community to celebrate Mike Moody’s incredible life and keep his spirit alive through the gift of life.
