AME MEMBER DEBORA RIPPEL TO HOST UPCOMING DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS

We at Suffolk AME never cease to be amazed by the knowledge, skills, and altruism of our membership. Each and every day, whether they are on the clock or using their personal time, our members dedicate their expertise to bettering the community.  

Debora Rippel, a Senior Public Health Educator in the Health Services Unit, will be conducting Diabetes Prevention Programs at various locations in the coming months, and will host several informational sessions at local libraries!

Friday, September 15, 2023

Time: 2:00 PM 

Location: Hauppauge Public Library 

This program is aimed at helping those who are at risk for developing Type-2 diabetes; already have pre-diabetes, family history, are overweight/obese, or have a co-morbidity such as hypertension.  It is not for people already diagnosed with type 1 or 2 diabetes.

Dates: September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15, 29, December 6, 13, 20 January 3, 10, 17 February 7, 21, then monthly starting in March.  Dates TBD
