AME’S LINDA BOHMAN HOSTS FREE TAI CHI CLASSES

Suffolk AME is proud of the work our members do to help better the community both on and off the clock! Suffolk County Department of Health Services Public Health Educator and Certified Tai Chi Instructor, Linda Bohman regularly organizes and teaches Tai Chi Classes that are free and open to the community.

Tai Chi for Arthritis at the Riverhead Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 p.m. Beginning July 7th through August 30th, 2022 | Participants enjoy the cultivation of a calm and relaxed body, mind, and spirit. This workshop will teach the six basic movements, warm-ups, and cool-down exercises over the course of 16 class meetings. Attendance in all 16 classes is strongly recommended. No previous Tai Chi experience is needed. There is no fee to join the program. | Info

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention at the Wyandanch Senior Center: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. July 5th – Sept. 15th | Discover the many benefits of this ancient and therapeutic art form. This evidence-based low-impact exercise is designed to develop muscular strength, and flexibility, reduce joint pain and promote a relaxed body, mind, and spirit. These 20 classes help to improve balance and reduce falls. Classes are free and in-person. | Info
