Suffolk AME is proud of the work our members do to help better the community both on and off the clock! Suffolk County Department of Health Services Public Health Educator and Certified Tai Chi Instructor, Linda Bohman is hard at work managing and organizing Tai Chi classes that a free and open to the community!

Planned in collaboration with Suffolk County's Office of Minority Health, classes have been scheduled at the Islip Town Senior Centers in Ronkonkoma, East Islip, West Islip, and Oakdale, as well as the Wyandanch Senior Center in the Town of Babylon. Classes will also be held at the Center Moriches Library.

As part of a collaboration with Northwell Health's South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore and Northwell Health's Peconic Bay Medical Center Hospital in Riverhead, classes have been set in to take place in Riverhead, Bayshore, and Central Islip.

• Central Islip Public Library | Tuesday and Thursday: 4 - 5 PM | May 2 – June 29
• Central Islip Public Library | Friday: 2 - 3 PM | January 6, 13, 20, and 27
• Northwell’s South Shore University Hospital | Tuesday and Thursday | 4 - 5 PM | January 5 – March 23
Virtual Offerings: Planned in partnership with Stony Brook Trauma Center, Virtual Zoom Tai Chi classes for Fall Prevention are open to anyone, programs are free but must be registered for in advance. Participants can also arrange a Zoom practice session to check their setup before the first day of class. Email Kristi.Ladowski@StonyBrookMedicine.edu to get connected to student support.
